If you are using a non-Synology memory module, please replace it with a memory module manufactured by Synology.Please refer to “ How can I run a memory test on my Synology NAS?“. If the test result is NOT Normal or if the memory test is NOT successful, please replace the memory module. If the test result is Normal, please run a memory test on your Synology NAS.If the test result is NOT Normal, we recommend replacing the drive. Please refer to “ How to diagnose drives’ health status when receiving bad sector warning?“. Go to Storage Manager > HDD/SSD > Health Info > S.M.A.R.T. and perform Extended Test on a drive.After your data are backed up, go to Storage Manager to remove the corresponding storage pool.For Mac users, please refer to “ Store files to Synology NAS from a Mac computer within the local network“.For Windows users, please refer to “ Store files to Synology NAS from a Windows PC within the local network“.Back up the data on your Synology NAS to a Windows computer, Mac computer, or other devices within the local network. If the data in File Station can still be read after a volume has crashed, do not power off your system and follow the steps below: Please refer to “ How to back up your Synology NAS“. If the issue is solved, please follow the steps below: The volume crash issue may be solved after the system restarts. If the volume crash is caused by accidental removal of a drive, please insert the removed drive back in your Synology NAS immediately and then restart the system. If your Synology NAS can power up and DSM can be signed in, but the data on your Synology NAS cannot be read via File Station because of drive errors, please contact your local data rescue companies for assistance. If your Synology NAS cannot power up because of drive failure issues, please refer to “ How to fix drive failure and retrieve the data from your drives“. Please refer to the following four common scenarios and take corresponding actions to solve a volume crash issue: Scenario 1 A volume crash caused by drive errors or file system errors cannot be repaired.
